![]() ☣ First Impressions ☣ VISUAL: Height: 5"8 Age: 23-24 Hair: The majority of her hair is a dark auburn, nearly but not-quite brown. Her bangs, and some of the hair beside her face, however, is a shocking white. It's just above shoulder length, and she'll either wear it down or up in several ponytails. It's naturally curly, and she straightens the heck out of it. Eyes: Green - light green, occasionally toward grey Build: She's all curves, not bad but 'drawn that way,' but aside from the softness of the curves being 'in the right places,' she's hard-earned muscle. Long-limbed and broad-shouldered, she stands out. Distinctive Features: Outside of her hair and her gloves, Rogue has two tattoos, both on the back of her neck. Her Deerington tattoo cradles a smaller bar code that has been distorted with wings. ☣ FASHION: Rogue's always wearing gloves. Her style in her younger years was very Goth, and she still has that proclivity, tending toward clothes with harsh lines that set off her curves by contrast and make them almost a defiant statement. ☣ DEMEANOUR: Look, but don't touch. She's got the 'murder walk' down pat, and employs it out of habit. She enforces four feet of personal space around her with death glares, honestly. And just as trained fighters tend to have a certain rolling way that they move and walk, that is a tell for how much time she has spent in combat training and in combat. She tends to hold herself completely straight in terms of her posture, and is very aware of her body and the space around her at all times. She smiles more, these days, but they're often very brief. She rarely laughs freely. ☣ SOUND: Her Southern accent had tempered down a bit due to years of being away from home, but it's still present in in the roundness of her vowels and comes out in more force when she's aggravated. Her voice is a little on the deep side. ☣ SCENT: Rogue's spent too long living with people with super senses. She does her best to not wear a scent as a result, so she'll just smell of soap and leather, most days. ☣ MENTAL INFORMATION: Rogue's mind is extremely disciplined... and also occupied by the psyches of everyone she touches. While she CAN have her mind and emotions read, when the psyches are out and free and raging, not even Xavier could get in, so imagine some interference. ☣ MAGICAL INFORMATION: Those especially sensitive to magic might be able tell that the emerald pendent she is wearing was magically constructed and still has some spellwork on/in it, but she herself has no magical ability at all. ☣ Hobbies and Skills: She's canonically an avid reader and a lover of music. Evo shows her with a giant guitar, and she plays it well and has brought it with her. She's got a background in gymnastics, kickboxing, and various types of 'this is how you hurt people' martial arts. She practices them and uses weapons competently, so she practices them too. She's become a stress cooker/baker, and has learned how to make very good vegetarian meals. She loves coffee, especially with chicory. She also enjoys horseback riding and actually fixing things with her hands. She sketches, but more as a release than anything she'd want to show anybody. ☣ Deerington ☣ Specific: ☣ Specific: ☣ Current Residence: David Cliff Apartments |

Do you want to run away together? I would say that was your best line ever. Too bad I fell for it.
Locked Up, Ingrid Michaelson lyrics and youtube
But if I look to my right, will I see the one I fight for? If I look to my right/Or if I turn to my left, we I see that I have kept my heart locked up, locked up so tight

Headcanon - expanding as I go.
Background
Evo!canon states that she was adopted by Mystique when she was four. She doesn't know what happened to her birth parents. I headcanon that she was in government housing care until that time; she had been found in a dumpster by a high school.
She lived with her 'Mama' as Anna Marie Raven until the age of 12. They were very happy years. Her mama traveled a lot, but she always made up for it when she got back, and there was a very nice elderly couple who would let her stay overnight if she would help around the house. They had a bowl full of peppermints, and Rogue made it her business to sneak off one whenever she passed by. To this day, she remembers them whenever she has a peppermint.
As a child, her Mama enrolled her in all kinds of classes, from gymnastics to martial arts to gun safety... and piano and Pioneer Club. Even when her mama was busy, she'd do her best to make time for the various recitals.
Everything changed when Rogue turned 12. First, her mama got a different job, one that required even more traveling, so her mama arranged for her to go and live with an old friend, and even had legal guardianship transferred. Her 'Aunt Irene' was blind, and Rogue's mama charged her to take very good care of her, especially in lazy Caldecott County, where 'progressive' was thought to be a way of crossing the street. With her unusual white streak, and living with one of the town's only disabled people (and a relative newcomer at that), having a 'hard time fitting in' was putting it mildly.
Then things got worse. Only a few months after moving in with Irene, Rogue was diagnosed with a 'skin condition,' one which dictated that she had to cover herself from head to foot, and that she could allow no one to touch her for her own safety. This further isolated her from her peers and she became withdrawn, discarding her old name, 'Anna Marie,' and making everyone begin to call her Rogue. Still, her appearance and her attitude hardly let her fade into the background, and as high school went up and down in the social scene, Rogue grew more and more fed up with the hypocrisy and began to do her best to live up to her name. 'Going Goth' was just one way of doing that (don't ask her about the time she jury-rigged a particular classmate's daddy's brand new BMW and took it for a test drive on the backroads).
And at least once she started slapping on the make-up, people stopped asking her about her hair.
Habits
Rogue is a bit of a neat freak. When she sets something down, she always sets it down in the same exact place, and everything has a place. This is both the result of her seeking to establish some form of control in her life and of those formative years growing up with a blind 'parent,' Destiny.
Gloves
She's got a few different kinds from knit gloves to spandex, but her current preference is leather gloves. She's gotten quite good at cutting off the fingers at the edges and stitching them so that they rest exactly at the edge of her fingertip.
She doesn't like getting her gloves dirty, so she's careful with them when she goes out - if she eats finger food when she's out she's careful to make sure that it's not greasy or sticky.
She goes through phases where she paints her nails, even though no one will see. She also wears two rings on one hand (thumb, ring finger). She makes sure to take them off before going into combat.
The Name 'Rogue'
Rogue was thirteen when she picked the name, a year after Irene told her that she had an 'incurable skin disease' and that she had to start dressing like this. She'd been Anna Marie before that, a name kept sacred and locked away and Anna Marie had been sick and tired of being unable to be what everyone thought she should be. Normal. A good girl. Able to touch.
Rogue was someone who struck out on their own. Rogue was someone that the bullies and name-callers and pitying looks couldn't touch. Rogue was someone who picked her own path and knocked down anyone who got in her way.
She hadn't known how true her name was until years later, at a dance, when her powers had activated with a fateful touch. Some skin disease.
Now she guards her name as part of her identity, as part of her true self that she remembers and that no psyche can take away from her, as much as she holds onto 'Rogue,' and makes her name a warning and a promise.
The Diary
In a very secret and secure place, Rogue keeps a plain journal with a bunch of haphazardly written, seemingly unrelated words listed. What it is, to be precise, is a list of things that she likes, as opposed to the personalities she's absorbed. The first page would list things like this:
Catfish and hush puppies; the sound of a river over rocks; dark purple; crimson; leather, supple or stiff; the smell of the rain; candy canes - peppermint or cherry, and sucking them down to a point; red and purple tootsie rolls; dark chocolate, broken off, not bitten out of the bar...
